BIOSPAIN 2021 / Navarre
Navarre, the host region
BIOSPAIN 2021 was held in Pamplona-Iruña with the support of the Government of Navarra — a region the event presented as one of Spain's most dynamic biomedical clusters.
The biomedical cluster
As the event described it, Navarre was emerging as one of the most dynamic biomedical clusters in Spain, offering opportunities for investment and partnership in the sector. The cluster grew steadily through business initiatives and consisted of more than 30 private companies and research centres employing more than 2,400 people.
Innovation infrastructure in the region was ranked among the best in Spain, allowing a biomedical product to be developed locally through every stage — from discovery to commercialization — thanks to networked activity among the companies and institutions established in the region, including two prestigious universities and their research centres and hospitals.
The venue
The in-person sessions of BIOSPAIN 2021 took place at Baluarte, the conference centre and auditorium of Navarra, in the centre of Pamplona-Iruña, from 29 September to 1 October 2021. Attendees were offered RENFE rail discounts to travel to Pamplona.
