Life Length owns a telomere measurement technology platform. Our main service is called Telomere Analysis Technology (TAT®), which measures Telomere Associated Variables (TAVs) for their use in preventive and personalized medicine. No other high-throughput technology is able to measure key telomere values, i.e.: median and average telomere length, number of critically short telomeres or telomere distribution on the entire sample.

Telomeres are a key hallmark of aging and are directly linked to the way we age. They are repetitive nucleotide sequences located at the ends of chromosomes that guarantee genomic stability and cellular viability. However, with each cellular division, telomeres become shorter and, when telomeres are critically short, the cell stops dividing, enters in cellular senescence and eventually dies.

We are also the only Clinical Diagnostic laboratory in Europe which hold both the U.S. Federal Government certification – as a CLIA lab – and the ISO15189 certification.

Now, we have identified a substantial clinical and commercial need: to offer our TAT in blood cells as a novel screening tool for cancer diagnostics and prognosis.
